A: The vertical travel is 20 inches.

Q: What type of surfaces can the piers are mounted to?
A: Pier-Tech offers mounting hardware for mounting to any surface at no extra charge.

Q: Are the piers weatherproof? Do they need to be covered for protection from adverse weather?
A: Although the piers are constructed from Aluminum and Stainless Steel, they should be covered when not in use to maximize excellent surface finish duration.

Q: How do you level the pier?
A: The Pier-Tech 1,2 or 3 come with an anchor plate. Once the anchor plate is installed, the piers sub plate is leveled relative to the installed anchor plate by way of (4) 3/4-10 anchor studs that perturbed from the anchor plate.

Q: Does Pier-Tech offer special adapters for mounting equatorial mounts to the pier?
A: Yes we do. There is an extra cost; it is an average cost of $150.00 depending on the complexity of the adapter.

A: Yes we do, Pier-Tech3 is available with a rechargeable battery built into the control box. The control box can easily be removed for charging. The Pier-Tech2 can be operated from an external battery power pack.

Q: What if I decide to change telescope or mount/ wedge type? Can the top plate be modified?
A: The pier top plate can be easily removed and sent back to Pier-Tech for modification. There is a small charge for modifying the top plate.

Q: Is the Pier-Tech 2 or 3 available for 220 volt 50 Hertz operation?
A: Yes it is at no extra charge.

Q: Can the piers are used for fieldwork?
A: Yes. With the optional leg assembly. The leg assembly comes with 3 castors for mobility and 3 leveling feet for leveling the pier.

Q: Can the Pier-Tech2 is upgraded to Pier-Tech3.
A: No, but you can trade in the Pier-Tech2 for a Pier-Tech3.
