Telescope Pier Installation Instructions

Telescope Pier Installation Instructions

(1) Dig a Small Hole.
Make a small hole approx. 6 inches in diameter x 36 inches deep. You can use a manual post hole digger for your local hardware store, or rent a power digger.

(2) Square the Hole.
Make hole square
18" x 18" x 36" deep.

(3) Form top of hole.

This is optional if you are making the top of the hole level with the ground and mandatory if you are going above the level of the ground with the cement.

(4) Add cement.

You will need approximately 18
(80 pound) bags of Sacrete concrete mix.

(5) Get Plate Ready.

The cement mounting Pier-Tech Anchor Plate is shown here. The J bolts are secured to the bottom of the plate.

(6) Add Plate.

Add Pier-Tech anchor plate (supplied with your pier) to the wet cement. The J bolts need to face down into the cement.

(7) Align Plate with True North.

While the cement is still wet, align the arrow scribed in the anchor plate with True North. Verify that the plate is level before the cement sets.

(8) Install Pier.

Add pier to anchor plate and fasten nuts. Be sure Pier remains level as you tighten each bolt.

This marks the location for the bolts.

*With an Existing Cement Mounting, pound cement anchor studs through the Anchor Plate holes after drilling. Then tighten the cement anchor studs.

(3) Tighten Bolts.

Tighten down anchor plate to deck.

(4) Install Pier.

Add pier to anchor plate and fasten nuts. Be sure Pier remains level as you tighten each bolt.
